Just like a car, to service a piece of equipment, asset or appliance it should be done frequently as a preventative measure. Logically, we want our air conditioning to work when we really need it right? You don’t want to be in the middle of a cold snap or heat wave before realising the air conditioning is faulty and then finding a contractor during this time can be difficult.
We recommend you go by the change of seasons – before summer and before winter. This way, its easy to remember when you need your next service. Depending on weather you use your heating and cooling equipment year-round, its best to do preventative maintenance during these selected periods.
For reverse cycle air conditioning systems, getting maintenance or repair services in the early weeks of autumn will put you in good stead for both the winter and summer months. If you’re just running a cooling system, then you could certainly consider having that serviced in the early weeks of spring.
Always keep in mind that as you get closer to winter and summer, demand for repairs and servicing do pick up so you may need to wait a little longer.
So in short, April or September are probably the best times of the year to have your heater or air conditioner serviced or repaired.
